Bridging A-Level Biology - Year 11 Preparation

Welcome Potential A-Level Biologists. The Tasks below are set out weekly (The PowerPoints explains everything you need and any additonal resources are either included below or are found on this website on a different page) in order to give you a taste of what studying A-Level Biology is like and must be completed by Friday 6pm of each week (Evidence must be emailed to Mr Hammond). You have also been contacted regarding taking part in the Intermediate Biology Olympiad (STAC Students only) so please check your email for date and time to come in and take part (just 1 hour multiple choice exam).

COVID - 19 EXTENSION COURSE

The World Famous London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (they have been in the news a lot recently due to modelling and planning the COVID 19 response)  have developed an online course which is free and would be a wonderful course to complete. It only takes about 6 hours (you do not have to do this all in one go) and you will learn about herd immunity, R0 number, vaccines and testing (some of this is very good revision from last year).

Please follow the link below and aim to complete this sometime over the summer (not giving you a strict deadline on this).  You may get an online certificate of completion so screen shot and copy/paste and send to your teacher as Evidence.

It can be accessed via this link: https://www.open.edu/openlearncreate/course/view.php?id=5319
